In 2021, the world began to emerge from the COVID-19 pandemic, leading to a significant shift in both personal and professional spheres. Individuals and organizations alike actively pursued innovative methods to connect and adjust to the new global environment. Joy+Belonging was formed to meet that pursuit.
At Joy+Belonging, we empower individuals and organizations to thrive in today's dynamic global world. We foster growth at both individual and systems levels through coaching, mentorship, and tailored learning experiences.
Our team is comprised of experienced educators and mental health professionals. This unique combinations allows us to offer a distinct perspective and approach. We believe meaningful change beings internally. So, our work begins with the individual and expands to the system, cultivating and sustaining a positive climate and culture that promotes joy and feelings of belonging.
Pamela Kadakia (she/her) is the founder and principal consultant at Joy+Belonging. A daughter of immigrant parents, Pamela is familiar with the desire for wanting to be in spaces where you feel like you belong.
She has always wanted to create community for herself and those around her. Starting with her early career as an English as a Second Language (ESL) educator in higher education. She was passionate about creating spaces of belonging for her students. After a decade of working with emergent bilingual adults, Pamela transitioned to the California Department of Education where she oversaw internal and external organizational change initiatives. In all her work, Pamela sought to create a sense of community and togetherness.
In all her experience, she learned that creating feelings of belonging and joy all started from within - an internal change. Pamela shared her personal change journey in her Tedx talk, "An ongoing and evolving journey towards antiracism," and she continues to pursue the work of fostering joy+belonging with her clients.
